They begin
tearing through them throwing things everywhere, a pair of goggles go flying.
Josh
Got them!
He throws one suit to Ryan and Kevin. They look at the name tags and switch. They
pull them on. They rush to the lockers and pull on
their belts. And grab their packs. Kevin
attaches the Proton Accelerator Carbine to his belt.
Ext. HQ
They put
the packs into the back get in hit the lights and punch it. They
only go from there to TK’s less than tree blocks away.
Ext. TK’s
They get
out and get their packs.
Ryan
Here goes nothing?
Kevin
Remember
Ryan and Josh
DON’T CROSS THE STREAMS.
Ryan
You told us since we got
into the car. We get it. Come
on let’s get this over with.
They grab their equipment. Kevin
pulls out his PKE Meter, the wings flair up violently.
Kevin
I got a bad feeling about
this.
Int. TK’s Café
The ghost
continues to pummel the players. The place is a mess. One tries to escape but the ghost pulls him back. Suddenly the door jiggles. The
ghost looks up. The Onarga Ghostbusters (OGBs) are trying to get in but can’t. The door is stuck. Finally the door gives and they fall through. The finally gain composure. They
look up and gasp.
Josh
Holy Crap!
Kevin
Come on, just
pull you neutrona wands.
They pull them.
And activate. Ryan steps out in front.
Ryan
(Getting up some nerve)
All right Ghosty. These are positron colliders, the most powerful piece of ghost busting
equipment. You have to ask yourself one question. “Do I Feel Lucky?” Well do yaw,
Punk?
The Ghost
It drops
the players and growls
Ryan
I am going to take that as a
yes.
Kevin
Blast it!
They fire. Their shots are
way wide. The ghost moves away easily. Their aim really sucks.
The counter
Kent and
the waitress watch the fiasco.
Man they suck.
Frustrated Kevin holsters his neutrona wand and
pulls the ecto plasmic
destabilizing pistol.
Kevin
Bout time my countless
videogame hours pays off.
Kevin
He begins
firing. The ghost dodges the first couple of burst. But then is caught in a burst stunning him.
Kevin
Alright, get him in your
containment streams. And don’t cross the streams.
Now having a still target, the other two manage to
get the ghost in their streams.
Ryan
We got it!
Kevin
Good, I’ll
get the trap.
(Kevin rolls in the trap.)
Don’t look when I open the trap.
Josh
Just do it!
Kevin
Now!
The trap opens the ghost is pulled
in.
Kevin
Shut off the beams . . . now!
He closes the trap. Ryan
and Josh shut off their beams. The trap begins to
smoke.
Kevin
(Picks up the trap)
Oh my god, we did it, we did
it.
Josh
Settle down there.
The counter
(Surprised)
Well I’ll be damned, you
pulled it off. Unfortunately, you did about a thousand
dollars worth of damage.
Kevin
That’s Ok instead of five thousand
we’ll only charge four thousand.
Four thousand?!
Josh
Maybe you can make payments.
They begin talking business
Ryan
seeing an opportunity goes over to where the waitress
is cowering.
Ryan
It’s safe now, I took care of
everything.
He extends his hand. She
grabs it and Ryan pulls her up.
Waitress
God that was horrible. Is it going to come back?
Ryan
Not a
chance.
Waitress
Thanks a lot.
Ryan
No problem we handle things
like this all of the time.
(Pauses, looks at her)
You know, I think you could
be a Ghostbusters.
Waitress
Really?
Ryan
Of course. Maybe some time you could stop by
headquarters so I can show you how to properly grip a
neutrona wand
Waitress
Slaps him hard across the face.
Ryan
What did I say?
There is a tap on his shoulder. Ryan
turns to see Josh and Kevin smirking. The Trap is
beginning to smoke.
Kevin
Come on Mr. Casanova, I want
to get this in the containment unit.
Josh
Let’s hope the grid stays stable
this time.
Kevin
Oh come on we turned it off
before the place exploded. I fixed the problem, I think.
They reach the front door.
Ryan
pauses and hesitates.
Ryan
Sorry hon,
I gotta go, but do you think
I could get a cheeseburger to go, maybe a slice of pie to go with it.
Waitress
She flings
a half broken plate at Ryan. It barley misses him and
shatters on the wall.
Kevin
(Re enters through the
door.)
Jesus Ryan lets go.
Ryan
Ok, ok, don’t
get your protons in a bind.
Int. HQ
The three
just come in through the door. They are chatting
Josh
That was pretty
damn cool.
Ryan
5 big ones in less than
twenty minutes, that’s what I call a job.
Kevin
(Holds a calculator)
It’s about $1666.66 per person.
The Desk
Becky just
finished cleaning again looks, up
Becky
Guys . . .
Kevin
(Interrupts)
You can tell us in a minute
we have to get the containment unit running and insert this ghost.
Becky
But . . .
Kevin
I am sure whatever it is can
wait.
Int. HQ basement
The three
are getting ready to fire up the containment unit.
Kevin
Alright, Ryan, turn on the main
power.
Ryan pulls a switch down sending power to the unit.
Kevin
Good, I am going to activate
the laser grid system. Josh, go to the control panel
and watch the charge levels. If one starts to spike tell me so I can adjust.
Josh
(Moves to the control
panel,)
Ok
Kevin sets the trap on a nearby table, and picks up
a manual. He begins to set the grid.
Kevin
I am activating the lasers .
. . NOW!
(Presses a button, there is
a sound of activation.
Josh
Charges are at zero.
Kevin
Good
Ryan
Ummm this couldn’t
blow up, killing us, could it?
Kevin
Well, um, yeah.
Ryan
I was afraid so.
Kevin
Ok I am polarizing the
lasers. Josh, this is where something could happen. Make sure the charge doesn’t
reach above 6.8
He sets the final setting, everything is fine. In the background we can here the telephone ring. Kevin picks the trap back up.
Kevin
Time for our
first captive to meet his new home.
Ryan
Hopefully he can adapt.
Josh
(Smacks Ryan)
It’s a ghost not a fish.
Kevin
Here we go.
He inserts the trap presses a few buttons pulls the
lever and pulls out the casing. Then he closes the
ECU.
Int. HQ first floor basement door.
Kevin,
Josh, and Ryan begin to talk as they head upstairs to as far as they know rest.
Josh
Glad that’s
over.
Kevin
(Pulling off the elbow pads)
Yeah, now we can relax.
Ryan
I don’t
know about you, but I gotta take a leak.
Becky’s Desk
Becky has
just gotten off the phone. She presses a button on the
computer and prints something out. Kevin walks up to
her while the other two begin to change.
Kevin
(Turning to Becky)
So what was so important?
Becky grabs a “piece” of paper
Becky
Here, these came in while
you were “busy”
The paper
Kevin
grabs the paper
Kevin
“These?!”
Kevin lets his grip on the paper loosen, a bunch of
attached pages fall out. He looks at the camera with a
shocked “oh shit” look.
The Busting Montage
The following
scenes are in no particular order. Their final order
is to be decided in post production. After the “oh
shit” look the Ray Parker Jr. song begins to play. This
is the second music montage
Pool Bust
Long shot of people hurrying around the pool. Suddenly someone screams, and people begin
running towards the exits. A ghost in swimming trunks
goes to the diving board. Ryan is laying facedown on a
towel by the pool. He shoves a floating thing into the
water there is a trap in it. The ghost jumps and Ryan
activates the trap capturing the ghost. Cut to a small
portion of the pool by the diving board. Bubbles
appear in the water. Kevin’s head emerges in water
style ecto goggles.
Golf Bust
View of
shagbark country club. Cut to a hole
number. In the background a golf cart
goes speeding by with two guys looking back they are scared. A
golf ball lands on the green. Suddenly a ghost in
golfing fatigues dissolves into view. He lines up his
put. Cut to bushes. Kevin,
Josh, and Ryan peek through. Kevin is wearing goggles. The ghost sinks the putt. He
leans in to get the ball.
Kevin (V.O.)
NOW!
The three jump up from behind the shrub and fire
their neutrona wands directly at the screen. . . Cut
to the three holding their equipment similar to the three stooges pose.
Outside
The door
opens. Smoke is heavy. Kevin
is holding a trap in one hand and a quesadilla in the other. Ryan
and Josh are also enjoying some Mexican favorites. The
owner is behind them waiving.
Matrix Scene.
A deserted alleyway.
A ghost
materializes by the way of the matrix stream effect. He
is wearing all black and sunglasses. Kevin sidesteps
in front of the camera holding the proton accelerator carbine.
They stare at each other for a moment.
With a burst of speed Kevin draws and begins firing proton burst. As in the matrix things slow down and the ghost dodges the
blast. The ghost looks at Kevin and smiles. Kevin looks back over the ghost. From
behind the ghost his head splits and looks over both shoulders at once. Josh and Ryan have their wands armed.
Josh & Ryan
Dodge these!
They fire.
Short Scene.
The three
have just completed a bust. The camera is at their
feet as they pass by the family’s TV. Ryan steps right
in a puddle of slime, but doesn’t even know it.
Junkyard
The three
are split up in different areas of the junkyard. Kevin
is looking at an old washing machine.
Kevin
(Into his radio)
Anything?
Cuts to Josh. He is in a low area filled with all kinds of
ceramic pots and the like.
Josh
Nope.
Suddenly, things begin to explode around him. Shards bounce off him. A winged
demon ghost flies out of a pile.
Josh
Crap! Ryan
he is coming your way!
Ryan is looking at a pile of nasty looking stuff. His radio is off. He turns around
to see the ghost floating in front of him. He reaches
for his proton gun but it sticks.
Ryan
(In a very calm tone)
Oh damn.
(Then screaming)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Josh and Kevin run towards Ryan. He
is covered not only in slime but garbage as well. He
looks forwards. Kevin and Josh look at each other, and
then bust up laughing.
Cemetery Bust
A wide
shot of the tombstones. Kevin, Josh, and Ryan are tip
toeing about they pass a mausoleum. They walk by the
door. It opens and a hand grabs Ryan’s shoulder. Ryan turns around and screams.
Downtown Onarga
The three
run down
Road Race
Outside of Onarga. Two
supped up cars are on the side of the road.
Racer 1
You’re gonna
eat exhaust.
Racer 2
With that?!
I’ll be surprised if it even hits fifty.
Racer 1
You’ll think. . . Did you hear that?
A strange noise.
Racer 2
Yeah. What
. . .
A ghoulish vehicle speeds down the road. It stops briefly and its skeleton driver smiles at the
racers. Then it speeds off. The
racers are scarred. Then they hear a siren as the Ecto
speeds by. The racers eyes are wide as the scene cuts.
The guys
are eating ice cream. Their beepers go off and they
rush off.
Becky
She is on
the phone. As soon as she takes an address another
person calls. She gets fed up
leave the phone off the hook and gets a cup of coffee.
The Park.
Kids run
away from the merry-go-round because there are ghost on it. A
trap opens beside it and the ghosts are flung from the
spinning platform into the trap.
Cash
Various customers paying for a job well done.
Ooze
Scenes of
the guys walking near cable connections not even
noticing the ooze.

(Singing)

Josh burst through the group followed by Kevin and
Ryan.

(Looking back)

Lantern Lane-inside the Ecto
The guys can see the mysterious light on the side of the road.
Outside.
They pass
the light. Josh hangs outside and opens a trap.
Fans and Media
Outside HQ
The Ecto comes dashing into the driveway. The front lawn is filled with fans as well as
a news crew. The car stops and the three get out. Josh goes and gets the traps while Kevin and Ryan head
towards the door. Kevin is counting some of the bills. The fans swarm them.
Kevin
Whoa there.
Coming through.
Ryan
Come on we got appointments
to keep.
